Self-Care Beauty and Wellness Tools I Always Pack in My Suitcase

July 27, 2026 by Tatiana Leave a Comment

Traveling is inherently uncomfortable for the average person which is why self-care items can make your journey more joyous. If you travel via private jet and stay in 5-star hotels, then I guess you’re fine. But that isn’t how 99% of the population experience travel.

My idea of luxury is checking a bag and not having to carry anything around the airport. (And the Delta Sky Club, obviously) When traveling for a week or longer, I pack the essentials and these self-care beauty and wellness items to help me along my journey. They range drastically in price from under $10 to $300 so some are easy to access while others may be an investment item.

1. Self-Care for Pain and Tension: Pranamat

This is my saving grace on any trip where I have to be extremely active. I’m looking at you Disney World!  I use this mat daily either first thing in the morning to set myself up for the day, or at the end of the day to help relieve the day’s tension.

This acupressure mat is the best on the market, and I know there are less expensive alternatives, but this is something you will want to invest in. When it comes to plastics, you want to be using as natural of a product as you can and the Pranamat brand is as natural as it gets and is sustainably made.

Don’t be fooled by the alternatives just to save a couple bucks. Invest in your health. I will always tell you when you can get a better deal out there, but this mat is WORTH IT.

The Pranamat has 10,000+ pointed spines that penetrate deeply into your muscles to increase blood and lymph flow, and release muscle tension.

Lotus shaped plastic spikes that are adhered to a mat for acupressure and pain relief.

You don’t have back pain? That’s okay. Here is what else the Pranamat can help you with:

  • Migraines
  • Insomnia
  • Fatigue
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Leg Pain
  • Foot Pain
  • Tension and Stress

I recommend the pillow and mat combo to be able to target your neck while you treat your back. To learn how to ease into this practice you can check out my other blog post about it: My Favorite Wellness Products for Pain Relief

2. Self-Care for Hair Removal: Nood

I always wanted to get laser hair removal but could never justify the price and the time it takes to have to go and get recurring treatments. That is why I invested in a home alternative Nood.

Treatments at the start are needed multiple times a week. Traveling while in the middle of your treatment cycle will require you to pack it. You will lose progress if you don’t follow the recommended schedule.  Later, the treatments are less frequent and needed for maintenance.

I have the 2nd generation of laser, but I saw great results with it and I am sure their newest model is even better.

When starting, be sure to read if this product is compatible with you. It does not work on all skin tones or hair colors.

If you do move forward, be sure to follow the skin sensitivity test in the information guide with every section of your body that you want to use it on. For instance, I can’t use Nood on my legs but everywhere else is fine. I learned that through the test. Thank goodness because if I just assumed it would be fine because everywhere else was then I would be left with marks on my legs that took a while to fade.

Use this at your own discretion and be sure to do your own research about Nood and if this is the right product for you.

3. Self-Care for Shiny Hair: Argan Hair Oil

When I am traveling to Florida, which is often, this helps my hair in the humidity and stops it from drying out from constantly swimming in the ocean or pool. It is inexpensive and I use this daily. I have thick, coarse hair that needs extra hydration. This also looks great to spray on after you have style your hair with heat tools to boost shine. If you are planning any sort of vacation where you will be in a pool often, this will help you keep your hair looking and feeling less damaged from the constant harsh pool chemicals and hair washing.

This hair oil is such an inexpensive way to reduce frizz, boost shine and give my hair the hydration it needs to stay soft. I always pack this in my checked luggage, inside of a baggie because you want to be sure there is no spillage! I’ve never had that issue but always be safe so it doesn’t spill on the contents of your suitcase. And it needs to be checked because the amount of liquid can’t be carried on.

4. Self-Care for Glowing Skin: GloPro Microneedling Tool

My ultimate skincare savior is my microneedling tool! I have been using this for 6 years, and I am often asked if I have Botox in my forehead. To be clear, I’ve never injected anything or even so much as had a laser treatment on my face. This tool does that deep work for me at home. These needles are shallower than the ones you will find at the dermatologist or med spa. You won’t be bleeding or cutting yourself on the needles. It is virtually pain free and easy to use. It is an investment piece, but when you think of the price that going to get this done consistently at a med spa, then it is a steal.

Microneedling softens fine lines, increases elasticity and promotes collagen growth. When paired with topical products, you will have the best skin care combo around! I don’t think I would have the skin I have today without this tool. I look forward to doing my treatment every week because it feels like an extra special self-care moment and I love waking up the following day and seeing how tight and glowing my skin looks.

5. Self-Care for Skin Care: SuperGoop Sunscreen

I am allergic to sunscreens with zinc oxide. A total bummer, I know. But, with that came testing many and I mean MANY, sunscreens out on the market. I wanted something that would protect my skin and look good underneath my makeup.

I have fallen in love with this SuperGoop moisturizer/sunscreen combo. I feel so thankful that I have found one that not only hydrates my skin but protects me from the sun without making my skin swell with burning and itchy hives! What a win for me!

This is in my daily rotation of morning skin care products. It protects your skin without leaving a greasy feeling on your skin. It always doesn’t leave any white residue or make your skin look white like a lot of other sunscreens I have tried.

The scent is minimal and the formula is lightweight and hydrating. I view this item as moderately priced but since you get a moisturizer and a sunscreen all in one, it feels like you get a nice bang for your buck.
